12 to 25 hours per week

Spring Summer & Fall- March 1st through December 15

Patchwork Meadows is a green business growing and installing native wildflowers to create pollinator habitat and ecofriendly landscapes. Our goal is to convert sections of residential and commercial lawn into beautiful wildflower meadow patches that benefit bees, butterflies, birds and other wildlife. You can read more about our mission and project information at Patchworkmeadows.com.

The Greenhouse worker internship would primarily help with propagation, transplanting and caring for plants at Patchwork Meadows Greenhouse near Beacon Village in Swannanoa. This student could also help with the installation and maintenance of pollinator gardens of clients in Buncombe and McDowell counties.

Student(s) will have the opportunity to learn about 75+ species of locally native wildflowers and grasses. Will learn greenhouse growing techniques and about maintaining both naturalized meadow spaces and more formal pollinator gardens.

Students with knowledge or interest in native plants and their pollinators, gardening, and/or conservation should apply.  Students seeking Biology, Environmental Studies or Agriculture degrees preferred.  Must be able to work outdoors in heat and adverse weather conditions. Must be motived to work independently.

Please email resume to Emily@patchworkmeadows.com.
